The Slammer Tour is an Ottawa-based golf league for public golfers who want to improve their game by playing by the official rules, and by playing with a little friendly competition.
It's here on my website because it is my brother, James (aka The Commish), along with myself and a bunch of other friends who started and now run the tour.
We don't use handicaps and the tour is structured as a "ladder"; similar to a tennis ladder where you "challenge" someone who is ranked above you. If you beat them, you get their position on the ladder and they get moved down one notch. Your position on the ladder is called your "rank". All challenges are match play as opposed to stroke play, which gives lower ranked Slammers the opportunity to take on the top dogs.
